What’s up, PopCultX fam? Today, as we stuff our faces with turkey (or Tofurkey—looking at you, Danny), and argue over whether “Die Hard” is a Christmas movie (again), we want to take a minute to thank you—the lifeblood of our little corner of the pop culture multiverse. Seriously, your passion for all things movies, music, games, comics, and “wait, that was trending?!” moments inspires us to keep going.
And since Thanksgiving is all about gratitude (and strategically unbuttoning your jeans), we figured: What better time to launch The Poppys, our first-ever pop culture awards?
What Are The Poppys?
The Poppys aren’t just another awards show with awkward speeches and bad montages. Nah, this is about celebrating the magic makers of 2024—the creators who dropped jaws, stirred tears, and gave us new obsessions to scream about on Reddit, or X, or Twitter, or BlueSky (where you can find us!). Whether it’s a mind-blowing indie game or the bop you replayed 96 times on Spotify (we see you), we’re here to honor the heart and soul behind the hits.

Because this year, pop culture gave us a buffet of awesomeness to be thankful for (duh):
